We’re currently looking to expand our team, so please reach out to us if you or anyone you know is a fit for any of these roles.
A typical time commitment is 6+ hours/week. Unfortunately at this moment all the positions are unpaid.
The Bush Films is an intersectional film series dedicated to showcasing work about and for queer women, trans and non-binary people.
Because we believe that quality representation is important, the Bush Films is dedicated to finding the best films by queer women, trans and non-binary people, and making those films accessible to a community that is interested in the content but might have difficulty finding it on their own, and we need your help to keep this community event alive!
Volunteer job descriptions:
Marketing Team (Communications, Writing/Editorial, PR)
Outreach to media/news regarding our monthly events. Helps distribute promotional material for festival (digital). Help create press lists. Coordinate interviews between journalists and staff and filmmakers. Ability to speak with press/filmmakers on the phone and in person is a must.
Festival Production Assistant
Coordinate social media schedule, research for films and filmmakers, requesting materials to filmmakers, help with weekly tasks.
Social Media
Help build organic followers, Manage social media accounts for the Festival, as well as regulate posts on festival-specific websites, create original copy for posts, and coordinate cross-promotional posts with partners.
Partnerships & Sponsorships
Helps with sponsor/partner outreach (emails and phone calls). Brainstorming great ideas on how to partner successfully.
Video & Photography
Help create video/photo content. Document events with photo/video.
Video Editor
Edit footage gathered during The Bush Films screenings/events during the year. Edited videos will be featured on The Bush’s social media channels and used for promotional purposes.
